Day 1/30:
Ok, we’ll keep it simple. To bring everyone up to speed.
On Thanksgiving Day 2008 I decided to leave Indiana.
Life was what it was, things were what they were, and it was time, for me to go. It was time for things to change. And more importantly, it was time, for ME to change.
So, I went.
On August 19th 2009 I boarded a plane and left Indianapolis behind me, and everyone and everything that went with it. Including all of my family and my friends. Everything that I thought I knew, and the things that I didn’t want to know anymore.
The life that was.
And a younger…different…version of myself.
Now, don’t get me wrong, by no means did I let any of it GO! hahah OH NO! THAT, that took some SERIOUS time. But, I left. And that, my friends, was a step in the right direction.
On August 25th 2009, as my plane touched down in Adelaide, South Australia, I snapped this photograph and began what continues to be a long winded journey of realizing that I am, in fact, in control of my own destiny.
