Day 7/30:
Mad thoughts of the Parson’s Bay Retreat Center family today and so I bring you, day 7/30
Parson’s Bay Retreat Center was the last stop for Holly and I on our three month Australian Backpacking Adventure
It is located in Nubeena, Tasmania on the Tasman Peninsula. And it is and exquisitely pristine and beautiful place
Parson’s was established by Ilan and Lynne, with the intent to develop a self sufficient community, equipped with eco-friendly homes and community shared agriculture areas
I just watched this video and remembered so many things. Like how Ilan used to always stand with his hands behind his back, and Savayos’ Wednesday Night Thai Nights. (let it be noted that I have yet to have Thai food, not even once, since we left Parson’s Bay)
Originally intending to stay for 12 days, Holly and I ended up spending the remaining four weeks of our trip at the Tasman Village, working and living as part of the family
These people became our home. Which is hard to find on the road.
For four weeks, they were everything we knew. We co-existed, side by side, and shared stories and laughs and hugs and tears and some of the best family dinners EVER!
I think there will likely be a few more, specific, posts relating to Parson’s Bay and Nubeena, TAS, highlighting our events and adventures
but mostly, the people
to Tommi and Chris, Ilan and Lynne, Shamm (aka “homefry”), Sirus, Michael, Savayos and Graeam (and his cheeky shenanigans)
viva la Parson’s!
